is a songwriter and performer with credits throughout the United States (GMA Music award 2003, NewSong Songwriter Showcase finalist). His “Acoustic Soul” style finds root in the struggle and celebration of common men and women, and it lifts their spirits through the contagious energy of his performance. Each song tells a story and invokes a heartfelt tenderness.
Performing regularly on stages since the age of 12 as a singer and trumpet player, Josh was exposed to a wide range of styles and the differing audiences that accompany them (from Jazz/Rock hits in NY Central Park, Lincoln Center, and Bitter End, to Gospel/Country standards in Nashville, TN, and great dives like Hal and Mal's in Jackson MS). But, more importantly, Threlkeld clued-in to those qualities that audiences across the US share. Now he incorporates this experience into each song.
His premier CD release, For Starters, was completed in 2008, and is available from the producer. The most recent work available is the second half of a soon-to-be 2 Disc set, Album Of Our Fall: Tragedy and Sequel. This project is a journey into the "two-sided coin" of relationships. One side is "A Falling Out" (Tragedy), and the other side is "To Fall In" (Sequel). The completed portion, Of Our Fall: Sequel, is now at live events only.
Relating across cultures and ages is what gives this music such momentum, and the well-crafted lyrics give it purpose.
